What our Customers Say

Published on 29th March 2022

We received a lovely email on the 26th of March from one of our customers.

“We recently used Landmark for a club netball outing, Saturday 19th March from Priory School Hitchin to Herts sports village, Hatfield. I wanted to say what excellent service we had. Booking was easy and all our enquires were always handled with a friendly caller. Our driver, Peter was punctual, friendly and organised. He knew our destination and the layout for parking. It was the easiest and best trip we have ever had, and we have done this trip many times over the years. Thank you, and special thanks to Peter who made our trip so fantastic”.

Regards, Jodie, Priory Netball Club.

The road out of lock-down

Published on 15th June 2021

Under Step 3 Guidance (from 17 May) pubs, restaurants, hotels & visitor attractions have been allowed to accommodate a legally permitted coach tour made of up multiple groups of six and/or multiple groups made up of two households, as long as you keep those groups separate when they are indoors. So there might be 20 people or 30 people or even 40 people but as long as, when you are indoors, a distance is kept between individual groups that make up that total overall number, it is allowed. This is of course dependant on the venue having sufficient space to be able to ensure that social distancing between the multiple groups is possible.

Latest COVID-19 Travel Information

Published on 14th October 2020

On the 12th of October 2020, The Prime Minister announced the new measures that the Government are taking to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We would like to clarify how these new measures will affect our customers.

The Three Tier Approach

Residents in Tier 1 (Medium Risk Areas) may still travel outside their area to other Tier 1 or Tier 2 (High Risk Areas). For residents living in Tier 2 areas, the same guidance applies, as long as social distancing measures are followed. Unfortunately, we will be unable to travel to Tier 3 (Very High Risk Areas). We are continuing to offer coach hire and day excursions to Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas.

We take your safety very seriously and our Safe Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments are available via our website.

Government – Rule of 6

Published on 27th September 2020

Following the latest UK Government Announcement on Wednesday 9th September regarding social gatherings being restricted to no more than six people, we would like to reassure our customers that this does not affect any coach hire’s or day trips or short breaks which we operate.

As a business which follows COVID-SECURE guidelines and has a comprehensive Risk Assessment in place, we are legally able to operate Coach Trips and Group Visits.

Currently, our passengers will be seated in their own socially distanced bubbles. This may mean that a single traveller will occupy a double seat and will be seated next to the window. A couple will be able to sit together, but will remain socially distanced from others. A family of up to six people living in the same household will be able to sit together and again will remain socially distanced from others.

Group Organisers and Hirers are required to adopt the same procedure when allocating seating.

We are asking all passengers to wear a face-covering unless you are medically exempt and we are encouraging regular hand washing and the use of sanitiser upon boarding and after any stops.

You can rest assured that your safety is our top priority.

New Travel Guidelines

Published on 11th September 2020

Following the latest Prime Minsters announcement regarding the change in lock-down restrictions, we would like to provide some clarity and reassurance to all of our customers about travelling by coach on holidays and day excursions.

We are pleased to be able to continue safely operating all holidays and day excursions as scheduled. Travel on coaches for leisure is still permitted providing Covid-19 measures are adhered to, which includes the wearing of a face-covering and social distancing.

Groups of more than 6 are not able to sit together on the coach as from Monday. Seating on the coach remains at a reduced capacity and we have stringent onboard Covid-19 measures which you can read more about here: https://www.landmarkhire.com/wp-content/uploads/COVID-19-SAFE-Latest-a.pdf

Venues including visitor attractions, museums and theatres, plus outdoor events, that are following Covid-19 guidelines can host larger groups in total, but groups of up to 6 must not mix or form larger groups.

Honk For Hope

Published on 1st July 2020

A convoy of coaches has taken to the road to highlight the impact of coronavirus on the industry.

It left Washington, Tyne and Wear, today before meeting up with others at Lightwater Valley, in North Yorkshire.

Around 90 coaches from across the country turned up at the rally, which has been named Honk for Hope UK.

The Lightwater Valley theme park, in Ripon, said the coach industry was a “vital element” to its success as it transported tens of thousands of visitors every year.

The Confederation of Passenger Transport UK, which represents 1,000 bus and coach operators, said more than 40,000 jobs were under threat.

Chief Executive Graham Vidler said: “There is no doubt the coach travel industry feels forgotten by government – it has suffered from unprecedented cancellations and is now facing an 18 month winter of low bookings.”

Visit Britain Accreditation

Published on 26th June 2020

We are very pleased to announce that today we have been awarded the VisitBritain ‘We’re Good to Go’ industry standard mark.

Acquiring the Industry Standard mark means that our business has followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, has a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

The Good To Go mark throws a ring of confidence around businesses, attractions and destinations as well as providing reassurance to local residents and visitors that clear processes are in place and the Business is GOOD TO GO.

Back Britain’s Coaches

Published on 24th April 2020

For just under 30 years, Landmark Coaches have been providing transport for day trips out, theatre trips, seaside excursions and international and UK tours. We also carry over 1000 children to school each day and provide bus services for the local area. This is just a small part of how we serve the local community.

Despite all of this, coach operators are currently not considered leisure businesses for the purposes of accessing the Covid-19 business rates and grant schemes that the Government has announced.

COVID-19 has very rapidly caused severe financial difficulties for all coach operators, putting the long-term viability of the whole sector at risk. Without access to the financial support available to the rest of the leisure and tourism industry, it will be nigh on impossible for many coach operators to continue trading and to resume services once ‘business as usual’ resumes. Some coach operators who have been trading for many years have already closed their doors for the last time.

To be able to bring tourism back into our local areas, ensure our children are transported safely to school, get people back to the seaside and visiting our theatres as well as reinstating educational trips and helping people back into full employment, it is vital that coach businesses have the financial support needed to withstand the current crisis ready to get Britain On The Move again, once this pandemic is over.

The Confederation of Passenger Transport is leading a campaign of awareness and asking everyone to Back Britain’s Coaches.

Thank you to the admin staff at Hallmark and both drivers (Steven and Steven) for helping to make it a stress free journey at the start and end of our trip. The phone call from Steven just prior to our return flight, to reconfirm where to locate the coach at LHR was really helpful.

Many thanks again.

Feedback from staff on the trip was very positive and staff have said where possible please could we book Landmark for future school trips.

The Lead Teacher on the trip said the driver was very helpful and professional and that the coach was really comfortable.

We particularly liked the tracker and we were able to see that they were going to be a few minutes late back to school.

So …… Please could we have a quote for a residential trip we have booked for 2020!”

“Hi
Thank you for assisting with the trip. The driver was fantastic, offering to keep the luggage on his coach for the day so the Team didn’t have to take it around with them during the day.
Even though he arrived a few minutes late to Cambridge because of the traffic we still arrived on time and he was there when we finished the day so we could send them off on time.

Great service and will use again.

“Hi Landmark Coaches

We had a fantastic theatre trip.  The Coach Driver we had, Martin, was brilliant.  It was lovely to have a coach driver who didn’t get grumpy in traffic and who enjoyed the children singing Christmas songs.  He also stopped in Hitchin on the way home to accomodate the families who had cars at the Station.

I also really appreciate the advice from the lady in your office about how much time we would need and her understanding that I needed emergency phone numbers after our last experience with a different coach company.

Hopefully we will plan another trip next year so will be talking to you in ther next couple of months.

Happy New Year
