Described by Charles Dickens as “the finest place in the universe”, today Great Yarmouth is East Anglia’s top seaside venue.   Set on 15 miles of wide, flat golden sand with sunny dry weather and a lively promenade, it offers a huge range of entertainment, sports and shopping. There are two piers, a Model Village, Butterfly Centre, the pleasure beach funfair, the Victorian Hippodrome Circus, a Sea Life Centre. and much more.    Stroll along the prom or catch the unique horse-drawn landaus.   At night the resort is illuminated and renowned for its live entertainment with a wide variety of shows and concerts.

Day 1 – Friday 17th April

We depart early morning for Dover to catch our 10:00 am 90 minute DFDS ferry crossing to Calais with complimentary breakfast.
We head through Belgium to historic Volendam and our 4 star Van der Valk hotel late afternoon after a lunch stop in Ghent. After unpacking we meet for dinner.

Day 2 – Saturday 18th April

After breakfast we head to the world famous Keukenhoff (pronounced cokenfoff, like coco!) Gardens in Lisse   We admire more than 7 million tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths in bloom, artfully arranged in spectacular displays that create a rainbow of colour as far as the eye can see.   Explore themed gardens, vibrant floral pavilions, and scenic walking paths — and don’t forget your camera!   This is a horticultural paradise that has delighted visitors for over 70 years and remains one of the most photographed gardens in the world.
Today only, is the flower parade that sets off from here to major dutch cities like Den Haag,and Utrecht.  After the parade, we travel through the countryside back to Volendam where there will be time to explore before we meet for dinner.

Day 3 – Sunday 19th April

After breakfast we head the 20 minutes south west to the heart of the Netherlands’ rich cultural heritage. Amsterdam!

We enjoy a boat tour and experience the Dutch capital from its most magical perspective — the water.   We glide along the historic canals, passing elegant 17th-century merchant houses, charming bridges, and vibrant houseboats.   Your expert guide will share fascinating stories of Amsterdam’s past and present, from its Golden Age wealth to its modern, cosmopolitan spirit.

Day 4 – Monday 20th April

After a hearty breakfast, we bid farewell to our Dutch hosts and make our way back to Calais with a stop in either Antwerp or Ghent before our 6:00pm DFDS fery with dinner included.
We should arrive back home around 8:30pm full of fantastic memories and also new friends

Join us for our May Half Term Breakaway to Santa Susanna on the Costa Brava in Spain.

Santa Susanna is an attractive resort situated on the Costa Maresme in Catalonia.   Situated on a coastal strip often mistaken for the Costa Brava, Santa Susanna offers a good holiday location, just 64 kilometres from the city of Barcelona and with all of the wonderful beaches, bays and facilities of the Costa Brava nearby.

The laid-back town is set between the glittering Mediterranean Sea and the mountainous wooded backdrop of the Massif Montenegre.   It is a popular holiday destination for both Spanish and foreign tourist and neatly combines a historic and traditional setting, with modern amenities for the holidaymaker.

Santa Susanna is an excellent destination for those looking to explore the Costa Brava and Catalonia region.   It offers good amenities, combined with a traditional charm.

There is a good selection of restaurants serving both local and international cuisine, and the nightlife is enjoyable with some great bars and pubs, suitable for families and couples.

The old town comprises of quaint narrow cobbled streets and historic buildings and monuments, yet head down to the seafront and you will be transported into modern living with a wealth of eateries, shops and water sports facilities.

There is weekly market held on a Tuesday selling locally produce and during the summer months an artisans market is held during the afternoons.

Escape to one of England’s most breath-taking regions for 4 days of scenery, charm, and relaxation.

Day 1 – Journey North

We begin our adventure with a leisurely drive north, stopping in the historic market town of Kendal before arriving at our home for the trip – the charming 3★ Riverside Hotel, a converted 18th-century tannery just a short stroll from Kendal’s lively centre.

Day 2 – Steam Trains & Lake Windermere

After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a scenic lakeside drive before boarding the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway for a nostalgic steam train journey.  From there, we step aboard for a lake cruise on Windermere, England’s largest lake, soaking up spectacular views.  We return to Kendal for dinner and a relaxed evening at the hotel.

Day 3 – Ullswater Magic

Today we travel to Ullswater, renowned for its dramatic mountain backdrop and gentle rolling hills.  We’ll enjoy a peaceful lake cruise, explore the postcard-perfect villages of Pooley Bridge and Glenridding, and then return to Kendal for dinner and good company.

Day 4 – Homeward Bound

After a hearty breakfast, we begin our return journey south, with interesting stops for lunch and coffee along the way.   We’re scheduled to arrive home around 8:00 pm.

Passports are required for everyone travelling – A valid passport is required for travel to France.  It must have been issued within the last 10 years before your date of arrival in France with an expiry date at least 6 months after our date of departure from France.  Your passport must contain at least one blank page for visa stamps.  If you are unsure, please check with our Travel Hotline before booking.  Please ensure that you bring your passports with you on your day of departure.

The Disney Shuttle Bus operates continuously during park opening hours between the hotel and park.

This Trip will have an onboard Tour Manager and activities to pass the journey.
