School Information Letter
From time to time, we are asked to supply potential customers and Schools with details of our Company.
As you have requested details of our Company, we would advise the following.
1.1 Landmark Coaches Limited is our trading name and our Head Office is located at Unit 6, Arlesey Business Park, Mill Lane, Arlesey. SG156RF.
We have a second depot which is located at the Coach House, Barford Road, Blunham. MK443NA.
1.2 We own and operate around 30 coaches and buses. All of our coaches and mini buses and double deckers are fitted with seatbelts, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, break glass hammers and comply with R66 rollover protection regulations. All of our vehicles comply with all Department of Transport Regulations.
1.3 We undertake all types of work including:

- Home to School Services
- Scheduled Bus Services

- Theatre Trips

3.1 We hold an International Operators Licence – European Community (Green), Licence No UK/GB/PF0000422, Issued by the Office of the Traffic Commissioner (East of England)
3.2 Our vehicles are insured through Equity Red Star and our Insurance Brokers are Arthur J Gallagher.
3.3 We hold Public Liability Insurance to the value of £10,000,000
3.4 We hold a current Performing Rights Licence.
4 We have 24 hour breakdown cover and we are also Premium Members of “Don’t Travel Empty”. DTE is a national organisation of Coach Operators. In the event of a breakdown, a replacement coach may be sourced from the nearest DTE Member.
5.1 We operate our own in house workshop facilities.
5.2 All of our vehicles receive a full safety inspection in our workshops every six weeks. Safety Inspection Sheets are retained for 15 months and are available for a prospective client to inspect.
5.3 All of our drivers carry out a walkaround safety inspection each time before the vehicle is used.
6.1 We operate some of the newest vehicles in the area.
6.2 Many of vehicles are Low Emission Zone (LEZ) compliant.
6.3 We are able to monitor all of our vehicles constantly using advanced tracker systems. Our trackers can advise us if a driver exceeds the maximum speed limit or brakes harshly. All of our trips are constantly monitored by our office staff.
6.4 We are the only Company in the area that makes some of our tracker information available to our customers. By visiting our website at www.landmarkhire.com and clicking on “Vehicle Tracker”, you can view a live map of where our vehicles are at any time. This is particularly useful for schools and parents who are waiting for the coach at the end of a school trip.
6.5 Many of our vehicles are fitted with onboard CCTV cameras.
6.6 Some of our vehicles are fitted with exterior CCTV.
7.1 We confirm to EU drivers hours laws and regulations. All of our digi cards and tachographs are recorded and monitored using Industry Standard software.
7.2 All of our drivers hold current DBS Certificates which are issued by Bedfordshire or Hertfordshire Council.
7.3 All of our drivers have a full PCV licence or a licence appropriate for the class of vehicle.
7.4 All drivers are vetted upon commencement of employment. We do not employ drivers who have committed serious driving offences such as drink driving.
7.5 All drivers are required to undergo medical assessments as/if required by the DVLA.
7.6 Company policies are in place which prohibit drivers from using mobile phones in the vehicle unless the vehicle is stationary or the driver is using fully hands free operated equipment.
7.7 Drivers are fully briefed on the route details before the trip.
7.8 Drivers licences are checked every three months.
7.9 Drivers are randomly breath tested and Drug tested.
Health & Safety
8.1 All of our routes are risk assessed by our Office Staff.
8.2 Our drivers carry out a “Dynamic Risk Assessment” at every pick up and drop off location in order to ensure that the vehicle is parked legally and safely for the embarkation/disembarkation of passengers.
8.3 Safety announcements can be made by the driver. Please request at time of booking.

9.1 We are a member of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and an approved Training Centre for Driver Periodic CPC training.
