“Hello

We travelled down from Glascow on two flights which were over two hours late and we were worried about the coach being there. The driver was great and understood completely and whilst not ideal for him, he was pleasant and more than happy to wait until we loaded 30 tired unders 10’s on the coach.

Each of the subsequent journeys were on time and the standard of the coach was excellent.

Thank you for such great service and look forward to using you on our trip next year.

We had a great day on Saturday and Jan was a flexible driver which I appreciated as I had never been to the several sights we saw that day.   She was cheerful and pleasant.   She exchanged mobile phone numbers at the beginning of the day so that we could be in touch at any point, since their were several destinations.   She also reviewed the itinerary periodically to ensure we were heading to the right place.

Expansion Plans

ANNOUNCING OUR EXPANSION PLANS

Due to extensive new contracts, we are expanding our Operations. As a result of this, we will be moving some of our vehicles to the depot which was previously known as Shorey Travel in Clophill.

From next week, we are seeking experienced Full Time Coach drivers and Part Time School Bus Drivers to be based at this satellite depot in Clophill.

On Monday I went with the coach to the London Drury Lane Theatre on behalf of Philip Howe.   As usual, Phillip had several pick up points, but our driver Andrew really was excellent and his timing superb.   Andrew is so kind and helpful and really nothing is too much trouble.

Meraki Festival 2018

School Service updates for this afternoon – 2nd March 2018

Bus Services collecting students from Samuel Whitbread School will be departing the School at 1.30 pm due to the forecast of heavy snow this afternoon.

We have been advised by Freman College and Edwinstree School that they will be closing at normal time. Due to the forecast of heavy snow this afternoon, we would advise parents to keep an eye on this Facebook Page and the News Page of our Website at www.landmarkhire.com

If we get heavy snow, this service will only operate if we consider it safe to do so.

We are expecting Severe weather this week, including snow showers and temperatures dropping to minus 6.

We will be operating our services normally and any service disruptions will be posted on our Facebook and Twitter accounts and on the newspage of this website.

800 School Bus Services to Buntingford

Important Service Information for Parents whose children use the 800 Bus Service Routes.

Please be advised that children may only use the route which they have been allocated to. They may also only board or disembark from the coach at their allocated Bus Stops.

Recently, children have been boarding any coach and have been getting on and off at stops which are not allocated to them. This is causing one coach to become overloaded and one coach having many spare seats.

With immediate effect, drivers have been instructed to only allow students on the coach which has been allocated to them, and drivers will only pick up and drop off at their allocated bus stop.

We have also had instances of students standing, as they do not wish to sit next to certain people. Standing is not permitted on any of the 800 services. There are ample seats and students are required by law to be seated and seatbelted.

We would refer parents to our Terms and Conditions and the Code of Behaviour which is on this website.

We would ask all parents to ensure that the above is adhered to at all times.

If you move house or wish to change the bus stop which your child boards/alights, please email us at admin@landmarkhire.com and we will confirm if spaces are available.

Found property is usually retained by us for up to 28 days before being disposed of.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint

By hiring a Coach or using a bus, you can reduce the carbon footprint of up to 40 cars.

We try to use the most modern vehicles available including the latest Euro 6 engines and vehicles with start/stop technology.

Our drivers are trained that where possible, they should not leave the engines idling for more than 1 minute.

Our New Arrival is fully disabled friendly

We have just taken delivery of a 49 seat Iveco Eurorider Coach.

This vehicle comes with DVD/CD Player, air conditioning and toilet facilities.

Not only that, but the coach is designed with fully disabled facilities.

For those with mobility problems, the full size lift can save you the climb up the conventional stairs.  You can use the lift straight to your seat.

For those that have more severe mobility problems, we can lift both you and your wheelchair straight into the Coach using the full size hydraulic lift and you can sit in your own wheelchair for the duration of the trip.  Your wheelchair can be locked safely into the Coach floor.

Not only that, but to make life a bit easier, the coach comes with a full size disabled access toilet and washroom, on the same level as the seating.  No need to go downstairs.

This coach has very large under lockers capable of storing wheelchairs, walkers and scooters and has high visibility handrails inside the coach for those with sight impairment.

Please bear in mind when hiring this coach, that for every wheelchair on-board, it reduces the seating capacity by two seats.

CPC – Approved Training Centre

We are pleased to announce that with effect from 23rd August, we have been approved as a Training Centre for driver periodic CPC training.

It is the law that all professional coach and lorry drivers must undertake 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in order to drive a lorry, bus or coach.

Really efficient on the phone before and on the day. All went to plan. The driver was really friendly and helpful. We had 44 passengers and everyone remarked on how nice he was. He had a few technical difficulties with the CD player which seemed to have a mind of its own but the driver Perry persevered to keep us entertained and found radio channels etc. We booked a toilet on board too but couldn’t seem to use it. Luckily it was only an hours trip so not the end of the world. Would definitely recommend – really reasonably priced and a great service. Thank You!

We would point out that the law requires that passengers are required to wear seatbelts at all times and therefore may not use the toilet whilst the vehicle is in motion as it requires removing seatbelts.  The driver will make any stops as necessary for calls of nature.

We are pleased to announce that we have been appointed as the Transport Provider for the Stevenage half Marathon which is taking place on Sunday the 22nd of October.
Our large capacity double deck buses will be transporting competitors from the Car Parks to the Ridlins Stadium.

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Home to School Transport contract for John Henry Newman School in Stevenage from September 2017.

We will be operating the Letchworth, Hitchin and Bedfordshire village routes.

We are currently updating our website to reflect these new services and parents are advised to register their interest once these pages are added.  We expect this facility to be available in the next 7 – 10 days.

These services are in addition to the Home to School services which we operate on behalf of Freman College and Edwinstree School together with the many school contracts we operate on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council and Central Beds Council.

VOSA Spot Check

Yesterday VOSA Inspectors carried out a safety spot check of coaches that were parked at Milton Keynes Coach Park. Our 53 seat Volvo luxury coach was checked.
The check list included – Drivers documentation – Braking Equipment – Steering – Visability – Lighting equipment and Electronic System – Axles, wheels, tyres and Suspension – Chassis and Chassis Attachments – Emissions and Fuel and Load Security.

We are please to advise that our Volvo Coach passed the inspection.
